***Morgan City now has available on their website www.morgancityut.com the first (and second!) of twelve monthly "Forgotten American Family Night Stories" for 2012!***
January's story is "The Star-Spangled Banner".  Black and white copies of the monthly story and picture are available in front county display pockets throughout Morgan County at participating businesses / organizations.  On the Morgan City website you will discover more family-friendly visuals and information about The Star-Spangled Banner for you and your family to enjoy such as:
  1. the cover picture in color of The Star-Spangled Banner
  2. the "story"
  3. the last two verses of The Star-Spangled Banner and references used for the "story"
  4. the Francis Scott Key "hero" poster
  5. "How to Make a Five Point Star" family activity, and...
  6. the music for, and all four verses of, The Star-Spangled Banner
The Forgotten American Family Night Story for February is "The Statue of Liberty:  What Does Liberty Mean to Us?" and is also now posted on http://www.morgancityut.com/.  This story, "hero" poster, family activity and all future monthly "stories" will be posted on Morgan City's website the first working day of the month throughout 2012 for our community celebration of the 225th Anniversary of America's Constitution.
A special thanks to Mayor Egbert and the Morgan City Council members for supporting and financing such an awesome way for all of us, and others across our Nation, to appreciate America's Constitution and celebrate its 225th anniversary in 2012!
